Here we've provided a brief overview of some of our recent projects. Often times, we are called into situations where there is an existing web site already in place. When this happens there are usually a number of options to consider. For example, is the client happy with their current hosting service? Have they already paid for their domain name registration for the next 3 years?
Depending upon the specific situation, Amherst Partners can coordinate the transition of an existing web site to a new hosting provider and/or the transition of the domain name registration to a new registrar. We can then develop an entirely new web site utilizing much of the content from an existing site.
Look for some examples of before and after comparisons in the projects listed below.

The D & F Builders original website was hosted with a service that provides a template-based, do-it-yourself site editing capability. Given the limited nature of this type of site development tool the original site was well designed and implemented to provide the visitor with easy access to the information provided. However, as time went on, the maintenance of the site became more tedious and the desire to provide a more custom and unique experience for the visitor required transitioning to a different platform.

The Performance Place original website was hosted by a company that also provided the site design and editing of the content. Changes were made by the site owner having to submit an on-line request describing what changes were wanted. The hosting/site development provider would then implement the updates as time permitted. A limited number of requests/hours spent were provided as part of the monthly hosting fees and after the alloted time/requests were spend a $30/hour rate was applied. Under this model the site had not been upgraded in some time.

Having retired from a career as a defense contractor last year, my primary avocation these days is offshore fishing. Also, as a holder of a US Coast Guard master's license for many years, I have been considering the start up of a small charter boat business.
